To Future Lions Competitors and Participating Schools:

The only constant in this world is change.

Working in teams is and always will be the norm in our industry. And for decades, the Art Director and Copywriter model dominated our shops.

For our Future Lions competition, we have always restricted the team size to two people. We didn’t specify it had to be an Art Director and Copywriter team. But by limiting the size to two, it implied so.

The “Art & Copy” team of two is now so last-century.

We live and work in a world where a creative idea can come from a storyteller, a designer, a programmer, a strategist or anyone. What matters isn’t where or whom the idea comes from. It’s the idea itself that matters.

Thus, we’re no longer going to limit the team size to two. Your team model is up to you.

A few things to clarify and remember:

• The size of your team will not be part of the judging criteria. In fact, we won’t even look at the team size when judging.
• If you have already submitted and are happy with your work, there’s no need to do anything.
• If you would like to change your entry and get additional help from your friends, you still have plenty of time to do so and modify your entry
• In the registration process, you only need to list up to two people for your team.
• If your team wins, we’ll contact you for full credit and everyone involved will get credit.
• Each winning team will get two trophies and registration passes to Cannes Festival. It’s up to your team to decide who goes.

Making this change midway is not ideal and we apologize if this causes trouble for you. However, we believe we need to keep evolving and this change is the right thing to do to reflect how many of you are working now.
